THIS CITY WAS ONCE A GLACIER!! I don't know why I'm yelling that part. The first snowfall is called "Termination Dust." Also, you can call into work, if you're running late, and say, "I will be in once the Moose Moves!" Moose will sometimes sit down in your driveway for an hour or so. They don't care, they don't have to get to work. There are 60 glaciers within 50 miles of this town. If you are a Cheechako (newcomer) or a Sourdough (long-time Alaskan), you'll love the wildlife and gorgeous views around town. A salmon stream runs thru the city and fishing is a passion here. Depending on when you visit, the sun can set at about 2 AM. There's no reason to not be out for a long night with your favorite beer found here:
