CHATTANOOGA, TN

Flowing South, from Knoxville to the seven-mile bend at Chattanooga, the Tennessee River marks a place rich in American Civil War history. Lookout Mountain is where the Union soldiers snuck up on Confederate soldiers (in the fog) for a surprise attack. There is also Cherokee History at Ross's Landing named after John Ross, who led the Cherokee Nation. And iconic Blues Singer, Bessie Smith was from this city. The Chattanooga Station was important to most trains heading South back in the day. (s per Glenn Miller Orchestra circa 1941, "Pardon me, Sir, is that the Chattanooga Choo Choo?" Great song!
