The city's reputation for Music, began with the Jubilee Singers, an all-black acapella group in the 1870's with their hit song, “Swing Low Sweet Chariot,” first listed on the National Recording Registry. These days you can hear every kind of music all over town. In 1943 the ‘Show that made country music famous,’ is the Grand Ole Opry, where stars like Patsy Cline, Emmy Lou Harris, Johnny Cash, June Carter, and Loretta Lynn graced the stage. The Ryman is where Johnny Cash first met June Carter, the love of his life. The Country Music Hall of Fame houses hundreds of thousands of artifacts from music superstars. RCA Studio B is where Dolly Parton accidentally drove her car into the building, saying later, "That was my first hit!" Elvis recorded there and visitors can sit at the same piano he played. Lower Broadway, is still the center of songwriters, where Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson and many others got their start. This is the Country Music and Songwriter Capital of the world.
